Rec Leadership

Rec Leadership involves the study of the essential elements and basic principles of leadership. As part of the course, students will be put into leadership roles in the school where they will be able to practice, experience, and apply leadership in authentic situations. Some of these roles include officiating and scorekeeping athletics games; as well as planning and facilitating tournaments, pep rallies, whole school events such as spirit weeks, and charitable community events. Also, in Rec Leadership, students will experience leadership in a variety of different environments through informative and fun field trips, as well as a year-end camping trip. Overall, students interested in this course must be highly self-motivated and responsible, and should have a genuine interest in making a lasting positive impact on our school.

* Rec Leadership students are required to complete a minimum of 75 hours of service outside of class time, as a component of this course
